Playing with Photo Effects

/ / The Relic Wood Blog

Graphic Artistry is what we do on a daily basis.

While working on custom projects don’t be afraid to ask us to get creative with effects that turn ordinary photos into conversation pieces. The main effect you see in the photo above is often referred to as “Posterization” or the poster effect.

Changes in lighting and contrast, as well as how aggressive you get with the edge fidelity, determines the final outcome, and beauty is in fact in the eye of the beholder. If you like what you see here, after placing your order, ask your graphic design project manager to get creative with “Posterization”.

Here is the original photo to use as a point of reference. 🙂

JD is a meticulous woodworking craftsman that is working on installing hardware on our custom boxes. He works especially well (so he says) while listening to some seriously old school country artists. The wailing sounds of country boy heartbreak has been known to annoy his Uncle who is our production manager. Family. Gotta love them.
